A Day at the Exceptional Foundation

Being involved in the community and giving back is very important here at Gorham & Associates, LLC. As a law firm, we are servants to our clients and to the communities in which we live and work. Promoting safety and volunteering are as important to us as practicing law.

Recently, Gorham & Associates, LLC and BGrace Media, LLC teamed up to volunteer at the Exceptional Foundation in Homewood. The Exceptional Foundation is a 501© (3) non-profit organization where individuals with special needs enjoy social and recreational activities. When a special needs individual graduates from high school or attains 21 years of age, they no longer find opportunities for social interaction within the school system. There is also a program for school-age individuals during after school and summer hours.

Individual volunteers have the opportunity to assist participates with activities throughout the year. Gorham & Associates had the opportunity to spend some time with participates during their summer camp. Employees from Gorham and BGrace got to interact with the participates in dodgeball and kickball and finished the morning off creating wonderful sparkly fish out of construction paper and glitter.

“We had a blast getting to talk to and interact with the participates doing so many fun activities. Spending time with them is always a blessing for us,” says Melissa of Gorham & Associates. “We are fortunate to work for someone that values volunteerism and giving back to the community.”
